In 2018, unsatisfied with the quality of their Spanish (US) language program, a popular Silicon Valley transportation app kicked off work with Mother Tongue, with the aim of boosting linguistic accuracy and resonance.

The difference to their previous vendor was ‘night and day’, so the company decided to expand collaboration for their next 7 international languages.  

When adding a new language, Mother Tongue copywriters spend a week at the company’s HQ for a full brand immersion and collaborative meetings. Through immersive and engaging sessions, we define tone of voice guidelines, glossaries and best practices. 

Today, our support continues for all of the app’s localization needs, spanning UI/UX, website copy, CRM, blog and even audio-visual services for support videos. Expansion into other asset types and workstreams is always accompanied by a robust expansion of our glossary and style guide to accommodate different kinds of copy.
