Born in London, but raised in Durham in the lovely North East, Chris’ love of language started at an early age. Forever found with his head in a book, language always fascinated him, and so he jumped at the chance to study more as soon as possible, starting with French and German throughout school.
Chris continued his studies at the University of York, graduating in 2015 with a degree in French and German language, and during this time, developed a keen interest in translation. He chose to pursue this at Leeds, studying an MA in Applied Translation in 2016/17, hoping to get involved with more creative, dynamic texts. The year at Leeds gave him a practical way to apply his passion for languages, and opened his eyes to the world of transcreation. In June 2017, he finally made his way back to London, and joined the Mother Tongue team.
