Hearing people chatting away in a language that’s not English is about as common as seeing a red bus in London. You might think you’ve sussed the ethnic make up of the London areas you frequent thanks to a few hastily googled phrases, but it’s always nice when someone plots a colourful map to help you find out whether you were right. Savills’ analyst Neal Hudson has used the results of the 2011 census to create this nice little map showing the second most popular primary language spoken by more than 5% of residents (the most popular language doesn’t have to be English). Check out what language your community is chatting in above.
