A born and bred Hamburger (insert culinary joke here!), Christian has always been keen to push boundaries from an early age. Such activism led to this picture taken on the Danish holiday island of Bornholm. After promising stints in tourism and behind the wheel of a taxi, Christian started his ongoing world tour and emigrated to the UK to study the languages and people of... Latin America. An exciting few years followed with months or years spent on top of Mayan pyramids in Mexico, sipping caipirinha in Brazil and whilst studying and working in Leeds trying to understand Yorkshire, the concept. Now representing the mighty Euston Power in the London Metropolitan Basketball League and living in the midst of the Portuguese community in south London, everything seems to have fallen into place rather well.
Interests: Basketball, cycling, travel and languages. Cooking, too, but much more so: eating.
Lifelong ambition to explore Central Asia/Uzbekistan and the Silk Road and could imagine spending a year in a lighthouse on the German North Sea shore writing my best-selling novel.
Loves: Sleeping in hammocks
Hates: chewing gum, liquorice, aniseed
Mother tongue: German.
Other languages: English, Spanish and Portuguese, patchy French, plus some Latin at school. Also some basic Swedish, and fragments of Bulgarian and - most recent addition - Turkish. Open to suggestions for what’s next!
