V. Anand

Anand’s favourite proverb “where there’s a will, there’s a way” has certainly put him in good stead.  He was born in colourful Chennai in Southern India, moving to the hustle and bustle of New Delhi at the age of ten.  His dream as a child was to come to London one day as a famous scientist or a great film director.  He learned chess at a young age and became a champion player at University.

Once he had completed his degree in Accountancy (his passion for figures having taken over from film and science) at Delhi University, he moved west to Dubai where he worked for 4 years.  At the end of this stint, his dream came true and he made it to London where he joined Mother Tongue as Head of Accounts and Chief Optimist!  His latest ambition is to be the next Alan Sugar, heading up the Apprentice – and becoming Sir Anand. 

Apart from Chess, Anand loves cricket and tennis, his all time favourite player is
Sachin Tendulkar in cricket and Pete Sampras in tennis.

Likes:  watching movies, playing chess, reading philosophical books.

Dislikes:  Mediocrity in any form
